Cash Management
The function of Risk and Cash Flow Management Section is to source funds for revenue and capital projects, investing surplus in high yielding instruments and establishment of linkages with financial institutions. It also provides affordable cover to mitigate risk against Council’s insurable assets.
Bank Accounts as well as Cash Accounts are maintained and controlled by Cash and Risk Management Section. The Section carries out Bank reconciliations of all Council bank accounts. Cash inflows and outflows are monitored on daily bases.
Payment for goods and services to various suppliers is done or facilitated by the Section.
Risk Management
Insurance cover for various risks is taken through Council’s insurance broker. Insurance portfolio includes the following:
Motor Fleet
This covers all Council vehicles
Executive Motor Scheme
This policy covers motor vehicles of directors, deputy directors and assistant directors.
Public Liability
The public liability policy provides indemnity in respect of accidental bodily injury or death to third party and loss or damage to third party property.
Assets All Risks
Council buildings and their contents are covered under this policy.
Group personal Accident
The policy provides 24 hour cover for injury or death of council employee through accident.
