The City of Bulawayo is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Wisdom Siziba to the position of Town Planning Director with effect from the 1st September 2022.
Wisdom Siziba is a holder of a Master of Science in Rural and Urban Planning from the University of Zimbabwe and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) Degree in Rural and Urban Planning from the University of Zimbabwe. He also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Leadership from the Zimbabwe Institute of Management and a Post Graduate Diploma in Geographic Information Science and Remote Sensing from the Lupane State University. He has numerous certificates in various courses and trainings.
He began his professional career as a Research Assistant with the Camp Fire projects in Tsholotsho, Plumtree, Binga, Hwange, Plan Inc. Zimbabwe and Action Magazine at the University of Zimbabwe as well as a Consultant in Social Forestry under the DFID.
He joined the City of Bulawayo in 1993 as a Town Planning Officer before his promotion to Senior Town Planner in August 2001. He was appointed Principal Town Planner in December 2001 before his appointment as the Deputy Director of Engineering Services (Town Planning) in 2014
He has been Acting Director of Town Planning for the Town Planning Department which was established after the Council resolution of 4th November 2020.
Mr Siziba is an astute Town Planner with a demonstrated history in Rural and Urban Planning. He has been key in championing various projects within the City of Bulawayo such as the institutionalisation of Geospatial Technology and the development of Local Development Plans and the Master Plan Review.
Mr Siziba is a corporate member of the Zimbabwe Institute of Regional and Urban Planners (ZIRUP) where he is a past president (2010 – 2012), corporate member of the Chartered Institute of Transport (MCIT – UK) and a board member of various institutions.
The City of Bulawayo congratulates Wisdom Siziba on his appointment and wishes him well in the execution of his duties.
