ASSISTANT TOWN PLANNING

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF TOWN PLANNING (SPATIAL PLANNING) – GRADE 13 (1POST)

The following position has arisen within the City of Bulawayo:

1. Main Responsibilities /Job Summary	In charge of all professional, technical and administrative matters of Town Planning (Spatial Planning) Branch. Supervises all sections in the Branch namely, Development Control, Forward Planning, Spatial Planning and Land Survey Prepares relevant Council reports to the Town Planning Director. Represents the Town Planning Director in Council Committees and Council. Prepares and recommend the Branch budget to the Town Planning Director. Represents Town Planning Director in hearings of the Administrative Court, Town Planning appeals. Analyses and recommends the issuing of development permits and subdivision permits. Drafts and recommends Town Planning strategic policy formulation and implementation. Drafts and recommends to the Town Planning Director, the Public transport policy in the City.
2. Qualifications Requirements	Degree in Town Planning. Master of Urban Design Degree or equivalent. Must be a corporate member of the Zimbabwe Institute of Regional and Urban Planners (ZIRUP).
3. Experience and Skills	At least 7 years in Town Planning practice (in either Government or Local Government).
