CHIEF FIRE OFFICER GRADE 13

The following Vacancy has arisen within the City of Bulawayo:

1. Main Responsibilities/ Job Summary	Heads the Fire and Ambulance Division of the Chamber Secretary's Department. Coordinates fire control, rescue, hazardous materials clean-up and pre-hospital medical treatment. Coordinates fire protection and prevention to limit damage, danger and loss of life. Enforces Municipal Fire Codes Policies and Public safety by protection systems in existing and new constructions. Develops, reviews and implements all firefighting and ambulance services policies and procedures. Plans firefighting strategies.
2. Qualifications Requirements	Must be a corporate member of the Institute of Fire Engineers. Graduate of the Institute of Fire Engineers or equivalent. Clean class 4 driver's licence.
3. EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS	At least 7 years experience in Fire Brigade at senior management level. Analytical, problem solving, decision making and leadership skills are required including the ability to take command at the scene of disaster. Computer literacy is an added advantage.
